Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath has initiated a non-dilutive, grant-based fund tailored for entrepreneurs aged 25 and under.
This fund aims to provide comprehensive support to young entrepreneurs, offering a non-dilutive grant of Rs 20 lakh, enabling founders to retain complete equity in their ventures. Additionally, WTFund will furnish access to operator-first mentorship pods, a vibrant community within the WTF ecosystem, and feedback opportunities, among other advantages.
Over the course of one year, the fund plans to select 40 entrepreneurs aged 25 or younger for funding and mentorship. Selected founders will receive ongoing support until they secure their initial institutional funding, as per the statement.
Applications for WTFund will be accepted starting from April 15 via its website. The chosen candidates will undergo a screening process and will continue to receive support until they secure their first institutional funding.
Kamath unveiled this initiative during a podcast in October last year. Under this program, entrepreneurs will receive mentorship from Ananth Narayanan (founder of Mensa Brands), Raj Shamani (content creator), Kamath himself, and Kishore Biyani (founder of Future Group).
