Venture fund Rainmatter, backed by Zerodha, has invested approximately Rs 12 crore ($1.4 million) in the foodtech startup TWF Flours. This marks the first institutional funding round for the Noida-based company established in 2019. In earlier stages, TWF Flours secured seed funding from notable figures in the startup domain such as Rajaraman Santhanam (cofounder of Chargebee), Shan Krishnaswamy (cofounder of Freshworks), Sharath Longanathan (cofounder of Ninjakart), and others.
With this pre-Series A funding, TWF Flours has amassed a total funding of nearly $2 million to date, according to cofounder Pranjal Kumar. The funds from this round will primarily be allocated to research and development efforts aimed at enhancing the nutritional aspects of flour.
TWF Flours specializes in innovating milling technology to produce higher quality flour that is not only healthier but also retains elevated levels of nutrients. The company sells its products directly to consumers through its website and various ecommerce platforms, as well as to hotels and restaurants in need of specialized breads for items like sandwiches and pizzas.
