A cleanliness campaign was conducted at Kashmir University.

The NSS (National Service Scheme) volunteers of Kashmir University (KU) organized a ‘Clean Campus Drive’ on Monday to eliminate plastic pollution from the Naseem Bagh campus of Kashmir University (KU).

The cleanup initiative was conducted as part of the ‘Swachhta Abhiyan’ campaign. Approximately 100 volunteers from different departments actively took part in the effort.

In a statement, Prof. Nilofer Khan, Vice Chancellor of KU, commended the efforts of the NSS volunteers and reaffirmed the university’s dedication to advancing environmental sustainability. “Cleanliness drives are essential to the values of educational institutions, and this initiative is a stride toward fostering a culture of responsible citizenship among the student body,” Prof. Khan emphasized.

Underlining the significance of such endeavors, NSS Programme Coordinator, Dr. Musavir Ahmed, expressed that the university is steadfast in its commitment to upholding a clean and sustainable environment. “The ‘Clean Campus Drive’ will be incorporated as a regular monthly activity,” he further stated.
