During Atishi’s budget speech in Delhi, emphasis was placed on Lord Ram and education; BJP alleges ‘duplicity’.

In New Delhi, the city’s finance minister, Atishi, unveiled the budget for 2024-25 on Monday, underscoring the Arvind Kejriwal government’s primary focus on education. In her inaugural budget address, she proposed an allocation of ₹16,396 crore for the education sector, emphasizing her party’s commitment to realizing the concept of Ram Rajya in the national capital.

The total budgetary allocation for Delhi amounts to ₹76,000 crore. Atishi hailed Arvind Kejriwal as a beacon of hope, stating, “This marks a moment of pride as the Kejriwal government presents its tenth budget. It’s not just about the tenth budget, but it’s a depiction of the evolving landscape of Delhi. Kejriwal emerged as a beacon of hope. We draw inspiration from Ram Rajya and strive diligently towards its realization.”

Atishi highlighted the trust Delhi’s people have placed in Kejriwal due to his integrity, asserting that all AAP MLAs draw inspiration from Lord Ram. She reiterated the party’s commitment to establishing Ram Rajya in Delhi. “Arvind Kejriwal has emerged as a beacon of hope for the people of Delhi. They have entrusted him with leadership due to his integrity, making him the CM with an overwhelming majority. Every legislator present here draws inspiration from Lord Ram, hence we pledge to fulfill the dream of Ram Rajya in Delhi,” she stated.

Atishi also stressed that saving lives aligns with the principles of Ram Rajya. She cited the “Farishtey Dilli Ke” scheme initiated by the Delhi government, wherein the expenses of accident victims are covered. Under this scheme, 22,000 lives have been saved in Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal, identifying as a devotee of Hanuman, frequents Hanuman temples in Delhi, while other AAP leaders organize sundarkand events. Notably, AAP leaders abstained from attending the consecration ceremony of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple.

In a response to the budget speech, BJP leader Bansuri Swaraj accused the AAP government of duplicity, asserting, “This underscores the hypocrisy of the Delhi government, which, despite being deeply entrenched in corruption, talks about Ram Rajya. It doesn’t befit them. There’s nothing innovative in today’s budget.”
