ALIGARH: Prof Towqueer Alam from the Department of Sunni Theology at Aligarh Muslim University has been appointed as the Editor of Fikr-o-Nazar, a quarterly literary and scholarly magazine published by the university. His appointment is effective immediately and will last for a period of one year or until further orders.
Prof. Alam has been associated with the Department of Sunni Theology since 1993, initially joining as a lecturer and later becoming a professor in 2010. He has authored approximately 35 books in Urdu, Arabic, English, and Hindi, along with over 200 research papers published in national and international journals.
His academic engagements include a Visiting Professorship at Mercer University, Atlanta, USA in April 2016, as well as lecture presentations at international conferences in the UK, Iran, Kuwait, and the USA. Prof. Alam’s research interests span Quraniyat, Arabic Literature, and Comparative Study of Religions.
