The Urdu teachers’ refresher course comes to an end.

In Aligarh, the week-long refresher course on “Teaching Methodology of Language and Literature,” organized by the Centre for Promotional Development of Urdu Teachers (CPDUT), also known as the Urdu Academy at Aligarh Muslim University, concluded with a closing ceremony. The event was presided over by the chief guest, renowned author and recipient of the Sahitya Akademi award, Prof. Shafey Kidwai.

Prof. Kidwai, who also serves as the Director of Sir Syed Academy, encouraged participants to familiarize themselves with the latest technological advancements that have significantly altered the educational landscape. He stressed the importance for Urdu educators to adapt to the changes brought about by the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Highlighting the importance of updating instructional methods, Prof. Kidwai emphasized the necessity of empowering Urdu teachers to utilize modern tools and techniques to enhance Urdu education for students. He underscored that despite technological advancements and the broader impact of AI, the role of teachers remains essential, but there is a need to evolve teaching methodologies.

Prof. Kidwai advocated for digitizing educational resources and disseminating them through internet platforms for broader accessibility. During the feedback session, participants shared their learning experiences.

Prof. Quamrul Hooda Faridi, the Director of the Academy, welcomed the guests and outlined the program’s objectives. He urged AMU school teachers participating in the refresher course to integrate their newly acquired knowledge into their teaching practices. He, along with the chief guest, distributed certificates to the participants.
