    An AMU researcher receives the Young Geographer Award.

    Manal Ahmad, a research scholar at Aligarh Muslim University’s Department of Geography, has been honored with the “Young Geographer Award, 2024” by the Deccan Geographical Society of India (DGSI). This recognition was bestowed upon her during the XVIII DGSI International Geography Congress, hosted by the Department of Geography at Osmania University, Hyderabad.

     

    As part of the award, Manal received a shawl, a memento, and a cash prize of Rs 7000 for her exceptional performance during the “Young Geographer Session.” Her supervisor, Prof. Syed Naushad Ahmad, extended his congratulations on her achievement and expressed optimism that she would continue to bring pride to both the university and the department.

     

    Manal is currently engaged in research titled “Dynamics of Wetland in North Bihar: An Ecological and Socio-Economic Perspective” and has earned recognition for her contributions with international publications in Scopus-indexed journals.
