Lt Governor Manoj Sinha emphasized the significant role of women entrepreneurs in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir. He praised their remarkable achievements in various sectors such as Information Technology and Services (ITeS), Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the service sector, agro-based industries, and handicrafts, attributing these accomplishments to their relentless pursuit of excellence and hard work. Furthermore, he highlighted the transformative impact of women entrepreneurship in rural and remote areas of the Union Territory, empowering Nari Shakti to drive grassroots change.
During his attendance at the ET Women Conclave 2024 organized by The Times Group in Gurugram, Lt Governor Sinha commended the significant contributions of women to the growth journey of the new Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated the commitment of the UT Administration to create an enabling environment for the socio-economic empowerment of women. Lt Governor Sinha also acknowledged the historic strides made by women across various domains, from academia to sports, from traditional crafts to innovative startups, serving as inspirational figures for others.
Moreover, Lt Governor Sinha discussed the initiatives undertaken by universities and higher educational institutions in the UT to skill and upskill women, aiming to achieve gender equality in education.
