    IIMC Dhenkanal Unveils Cover of Public Relations Book.

    Dhenkanal: On the occasion of Utkal Diwas, Communication Consultant Dr. Prof. Srimoy Patra unveiled the cover of a new book titled “LOKASAMPARKA O CORPORATE JOGAAJOGA” (Public Relations and Corporate Communication) at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Dhenkanal. The authors, Dr. Mrinal Chatterjee, the regional director of IIMC Dhenkanal, and academic associate Soumya Ranjan Bihara, assured that this Odia-language book would be available in the market by mid-April 2024. Academic coordinator Jitendra Pati designed the cover and layout of the book.

     

    Dr. Chatterjee highlighted, “This is perhaps the first significant book in Odia on Public Relations and Corporate Communication.” The book aims to shed light on essential competencies required for success as a communications professional, including communication skills, critical thinking skills, and business acumen. Dr. Chatterjee elaborated, “In its 17 chapters, the book covers both conceptual and practical aspects, including ethical and legal considerations. It also delves into recent trends and the future of Public Relations and Corporate Communication, considering the transformative impact of new and disruptive technologies on the media landscape worldwide.”

     

    Author Soumya Ranjan Bihara emphasized that the book would help students grasp the fundamentals of organizational communication and would also benefit those seeking deeper insights into communications. Academics can also glean new pedagogical insights from the book’s contents. Dr. Patra, along with all attendees, commended the authors’ efforts in producing such a seminal work.
