    St. Petersburg Polytechnic University fosters collaboration between Russia and India.

    As part of their strategic alliance, Russia and India continue to enhance collaboration across various domains. Education, culture, and science stand as significant pillars of this cooperation, fostering joint research, student exchanges, and cultural initiatives to bolster friendly ties between the peoples of both nations.

     

    Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU or Polytech), a leading engineering institution and a catalyst for technical and economic education in Russia, has forged a distinctive partnership network spanning numerous countries worldwide. Since the establishment of the Russian-Indian Network of Institutions of Higher Education in 2015, Polytech has cultivated fruitful relationships with prominent Indian universities. Presently, among the 12 partner universities of SPbPU are the Indian Institutes of Technology Bombay, Roorkee, Madras, Chandigarh University, and others.

     

    Polytechnic University engages in joint ventures with Indian academic institutions and research centers across various fields such as the development of new materials and nanotechnologies, information technology, agriculture, ecology, waste management, and biotechnology. For instance, Polytechnic researchers are actively involved in projects relevant to India, including the creation of new semiconductor devices for power electronics applicable in power grids, electric vehicles, and high-speed trains, as well as the advancement of modern diamond processing techniques and agricultural crop domestication research.

     

    St. Petersburg Polytechnic University actively fosters partnerships with Indian universities in higher education, encompassing a wide array of programs ranging from bachelor’s to master’s degrees, academic mobility, and additional professional education. Over the years, more than 20 distinguished professors from top Indian universities have lectured at Polytechnic University, and over 150 Indian students have earned higher education diplomas. SPbPU is committed to launching new joint educational initiatives with Indian universities and expanding mutual cooperation to achieve greater heights.

     

    In 2022 and 2023, Polytechnic University served as a strategic partner at the 4th and 5th BRICS+ International Municipal Forum, participated in the 7th International Conference on Nanostructuring by Ion Beams held at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies in Dehradun, and AICGS-2023 (Annual International Conference and Global Summit) organized at Lovely Professional University in Phagwara. SPbPU regularly participates in educational exhibitions in India.

     

    As part of its efforts to promote Russian higher education and strengthen scientific collaboration, Polytechnic University will participate in the Indo-Russian Education Summit, scheduled from April 11 to 13 in New Delhi. All summit attendees will have the opportunity to explore educational programs and areas of cooperation offered by St. Petersburg Polytechnic University at the university’s exhibition booth. Interested individuals are invited to visit the Polytechnic’s stand, engage in discussions, and negotiate various aspects of Russian-Indian cooperation, particularly significant amidst Russia’s presidency in BRICS this year. St. Petersburg Polytechnic University looks forward to fruitful discussions, novel ideas, and inspiration.
